VELOX glossy paper, ~ 1930

…still caring after all these years.

Big VELOX contact print from a 1930ies glass negative. Grandmother’s resignation, juvenile gratitude and childlike unconcern, all of this banned  in front of a rusty iron fence stuck into a crumbling concrete mount. Could be located in Interbellum Vienna. Respect goes out to this photographer.

silver gelatine, ~ 1925
silver gelatine, ~ 1925

This mid 1920ies silver gelatine print shows an obviously experienced grandmother amongst her three grandchildren. Compare the left girl’s face with granny’s one – nice.

Agfa Lupex contact print, 13.08.1933
Agfa Lupex contact print, 13.08.1933

Early Agfa Lupex contact print showing a typical Carinthian Rauchküche (kitchen with open fireplace). Three generations stand together on this image when a meal is prepared in a huge wrought iron pan.  The girl does not seem to know what is going on, her mother and grandmother are aware of being imaged. The  image is labed “Eine alte sogenannte “Rauchküche” am Sonnberg | Stall, 13.08.1933″. Should be Republic of Austria | State of Carinthia | District of Spittal an der Drau | Community of Stall | Village of Sonnberg. Really nice portait of rural Carinthia and its traditional costume. This is one to behold.
